Brian Kendrick was part of the NXT brand, but he requested his release from the company. The last we heard he was still waiting for that release request to be granted, but he’s still appearing for AEW this week.

AEW announced that Jon Moxley will take on Brian Kendrick this week on Dynamite. This came as quite a surprise, especially since it was not common knowledge that Brian Kendrick was granted his release from WWE.

LIVE @ 8pm ET/7pm CT on @TBSNetwork when he goes one-on-one with former AEW World Champion @JonMoxley!

We will have to see how that match turns out. Brian Kendrick brings a ton of talent and experience to the table, so he could be a real benefit for AEW if they decide to keep him around.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
