WWE’s ‘Next In Line’ program was created to form pipeline of elite college athletes to WWE. New NCAA rules allow athletes to be paid for the use of their name, image, and likeness. WWE recently signed their first class of 15 potential superstars into the program. One of them has suffered a scary accident.

AJ Ferrari is one of the most well-known names in college wrestling. Ferrari is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Gable Steveson as the latest collegiate grappler to make a name for himself in WWE. Those plans may be on hold.

ESPN reported that AJ Ferrari was injured last night in a car accident in Oklahoma. Ferrari was travelling with fellow Oklahoma State athlete Isai Rodriguez. Ferrari has been seriously injured due to the crash.

“Ferrari, the NCAA champion in the 197-pound weight class, was transported via helicopter to a hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in fair condition.”

Ferrari’s father posted on Facebook that his son was still in the hospital. No bones were broken. There is some fluid in his lungs and internal bleeding that caused minor complications.

AJ Ferrari is lucky to escape the scary wreck with only minor injuries. Time will tell if there are any long-term effects from the crash. The staff here at Ringside News wishes AJ a speedy and full recovery.
