Bron Breakker Didn’t Know His Father Would Be There For NXT Title Win

Bron Breakker has had a dramatic rise to the top of NXT. The son of Rick Steiner made an immediate impression on the first episode of the show’s 2.0 branding. Just months later, Breakker is the NXT Champion. What happened after his victory wasn’t something Bron was expecting.

Tommaso Ciampa put the NXT Championship on the line at New Year’s Evil. Breakker symbolically destroyed Ciampa’s era of NXT to become the new champion. After the match, Bron shared an emotional moment with his father, Rick Steiner.

Bron recently talked about the post-match appearance of his dad with Bleacher Report. The champion said he had no idea Rick was going to be there. The entire bit was a surprise.

“I didn’t really know he was coming. I invited him down and said, ‘Hey, do you want to come to the show?’ He drove down and surprised me.

He showed up and it was cool. It was the first time he’s ever seen me work and getting to be a part of it in person. I got to cherish that with my dad and my brother was there, too. It’s one of those things you never forget.”

Rick Steiner will have plenty of big moments to witness in the future. Bron Breakker appears to have a rocket strapped to his back. WWE thinks the sky is the limit for the talented young star.
