Cody Rhodes is one of the most polarizing figures in the industry today. Despite playing a babyface character on screen, Rhodes has been getting widespread hate from fans as of late.

The AEW Executive Vice President is apparently working as a free agent. Fightful Select reported earlier in the day that Rhodes has been working without a contract since the end of 2021.

Social media is flooded with speculations about his status as AEW EVP after the news about him working without an active contract become public. Fightful reached out directly to Rhodes but didn’t receive a response to that regard.

“We’ve had a lot of inquiries regarding Cody’s status as an EVP, or if there’s a separate contract in relation to him. We haven’t heard back from Cody Rhodes directly, but were told that ‘he’s a free agent, with no contract with AEW at the moment.'”

Fans are already speculating about Rhodes showing up at the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble PPV as a surprise entrant. Twitter has been buzzing all day with such speculations and conspiracy theories.
