Eddie Kingston made his AEW debut back in July of 2020, where he competed against Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship during his open challenge. While he was unsuccessful in the match, Kingston impressed many and signed with the company. It seems Kingston has plans to go after the AEW World Championship.

Kingston quickly cemented himself as one of the best talkers in AEW as his promos are known to be from the heart and very natural. He is also very passionate when it comes to the pro wrestling world.

While fans praise his promo and in-ring skills, many have criticized Eddie Kingston for his physique as they feel he is out of shape. While speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Eddie Kingston revealed that he wants to quit smoking and get into shape for an AEW World Title run.

“To stand out, I’m just gonna be me so you take me for who I am. Do you know what I mean? What you see on screen is not fake. That’s who I am 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Physically, I gotta get in better shape. Do you know what I mean? And I try every day, folks. I try every day, but like being out here in North Carolina, I like a Cookout. I also like Five Guys. I like food, I like Ice Cream, so I gotta work on that.

I’m quitting smoking cigarettes. I’ve smoked cigarettes since I was 15. It’s gonna be a little rough, but I’m trying, and I’m trying because I want to be World Champion, and I also want to be a champion of AEW and I want to represent the company. I know what I have to do to step up.”

Eddie Kingston is now feuding with 2Point0 in AEW and somehow Chris Jericho got involved in the fray as well. It remains to be seen how their feud will progress in the coming weeks.
