WWE is continuing to change the way they operate NXT. The brand’s staff previously had a lot of autonomy over how the show was run. Those days are now over.

When Triple H ran NXT, the creative team operated the show without much outside influence. NXT existed in its own bubble and acted as its own creative entity. WWE has been moving away from the people and philosophy set forth by The Game recently. The show is now going completely corporate.

PW Insider has reported that the NXT Creative team will fall under the oversight of Bruce Prichard and Christine Lubrano. They will directly report and answer to the duo. Prichard is one of Vince McMahon’s most trusted advisors.

There will also be a new head writer under Prichard and Lubrano. Johnny Russo will take over the pen. Russo has been with WWE creative since 2011.

Dewey Foley will also remain with the NXT creative team. Dewey is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. Dewey has most recently been in charge of 205 Live. Foley is joined in the role by Anthony Golden Jr.

The sweeping change brought on by WWE has been a shock to many NXT supporters. There are no signs of the company changing course any time soon. Time will tell what other tweaks will be made to NXT.
