William Regal is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, who competed all over the world before making his way to WWE. He was one of the creative minds behind NXT and helped flourish the brand before Vince McMahon took over. It seems Jim Cornette wants Willaim Regal to go to AEW.

The company decided to release numerous talents and members of staff right after NXT’s New Year’s Evil this week. This included names such as William Regal, which came as shock to many.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette stated that AEW needs more coaches and trainers and that WWE will offer them just that in the form of William Regal.

“And again, what does AEW need? Trainers, coaches, and teachers, and WWE has let some of the best go. And not only that, with Regal, he means so much to such a great amount of stars that have come through for however long, they are not gonna like that. So that is an incredible acquisition that AEW could turn around and pick up, and they have got a direct pipeline to someone that a majority of modern-day wrestlers trust.

Regal could also recruit talent for Tony Khan for the next ten years and not get in everybody that would want to come for him. And nobody even brought that up, by the way, everyone says, ‘Ohh what a great he is, what a great trainer he is,’ nobody’s brought up that. WWE have just given Tony Khan a skeleton key to their goddamn talent closet.”

It was also said that WWE talents are depressed after William Regal was released. William Regal’s contributions to WWE and especially NXT cannot be understated in any way. We will have to wait and see if Regal will make his way to AEW or not.
