Cody Rhodes is one of the top stars in the company and has been one of the mainstays of AEW television since day one. He is also a prominent figure backstage in the company and ensures the product is as good as it can be. It seems he and his wife were called out recently.

On the other hand, Brandi Rhodes is the wife of AEW EVP Cody Rhodes and in the early stages of the company, she was one of the mainstays of the women’s division. Eventually, she took a more reserved role but still appears on AEW television from time to time.

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Brandi Rhodes was involved in a scathing promo war with Dan Lambert, where she even named-dropped Paul Heyman.

While speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan talked about Brandi Rhodes’ latest segment and heavily criticized both Cody and Brandi Rhodes for being unlikeable.

“I just think that Dan Lambert throws a lot of shots out there, he goes ‘There’s nothing cool about Rhodes and his entourage’ – which is true. He says that Arn Anderson is sucking up to the guy that sucks up to Tony Khan, which is the perception or the rumour on Cody Rhodes, right? I loved when he talked about that neck tattoo that Cody has. I thought it was the American flag, he said it was a tattoo of Transformers. Is that true? And let me just say this once and for all – Brandi is a lot like Cody; a very unlikable character. And I’m not a big fan of her when she tries to come up as ghetto or street because I highly doubt she ever was or is that.”

Brandi Rhodes’ promo was well received by fans on social media, which must have come as a surprise for many as fans have made it clear they don’t want to see her on AEW television. Cody Rhodes also successfully defended his TNT Title against Ethan Page on the New Year’s Smash edition of AEW Rampage. We will have to wait and see how the storyline will progress.
