Seth Rollins is scheduled to wrestle for the WWE Championship in less than a week. He is booked for a four-way match featuring Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, and WWE champ Big E at the Day 1 pay-per-view in Atlanta.

Rollins was pulled from this weekend’s house show due to concerns about COVID-19. He tweeted that he was enjoying “COVID Christmas,” but did not confirm a positive test. Dave Meltzer later reported that some talent was kept off the show to prevent an infection, not because of one.

That means the title match at Day 1 is in doubt. Several WWE wrestlers have tested positive for the virus. Many are being kept out of events leading up to the PPV out of an abundance of caution. If there is an outbreak, plans will have to change in short order. Twitter was not short on ideas as “Seth Rollins” began to trend in the aftermath of Rollins’ ‘viral’ tease.

“Just a thought. Seth Rollins never said he tested positive. Could be just be isolating as a precaution?”

“Due to this Covid 19 circumstances, if Seth Rollins didn’t manage to make it to the #WWEDay1 PPV I would be extremely disappointed for Seth cause he was the original #1 contender for the WWE championship!”

“Hi Seth Rollins do u really have COVID-19? Coz I want you be at Day1 and see u win and be the new wwe raw champion and a happy new year to you get blessed”

For the time being, WWE Day 1 is a go as scheduled. This is a very fluid situation. Things could change at a moment’s notice. Seth Rollins is hoping a positive test won’t keep him from claiming his rightful WWE title shot at Day 1.
