WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart is without a doubt one of the best technical pro wrestlers the pro wrestling industry has ever seen. He is also controversial wrestler whose views haven’t always been seen in the best of ways. It seems he was Embarrassed to be a pro wrestler at one time.

Despite all his controversy, Bret Hart’s influence on the pro wrestling industry is continued to be felt throughout the pro wrestling world. During the mid-90s he was at the height of his popularity as well.

While speaking with Calgary Sun, Bret Hart talked about his pro wrestling career. Hart admitted that he was Embarrassed to be a pro wrestler when he started his career back in the day.

“When I got into wrestling, I never had any idea that I would be in this kind of situation where people are celebrating my impact as a pro wrestler. When I got into wrestling, it was considered just a step up above topless dancing. I remember being kind of embarrassed in those days. I remember I had been wrestling for my dad for about three weeks. I met a girl I knew at a shopping mall. She asked, ‘So what are you doing these days?’ I said, ‘Well, I’m working for my dad nowadays. I’m a wrestler.’ I remember she looked at me and said, ‘I’m so disappointed. You had so much more potential to be something much bigger than that.’ I’m a pro wrestler now whether you like it or not.”
