Jack Evans made some concerning overnight posts via his Twitter account. The AEW wrestler says he’s being extorted by police in Mexico. The alarming messages were posted in both English and Spanish.

Evans says two officers from the Del Valle PD have extorted him for hundreds of dollars. He warned that he expects to be arrested on trumped up drug charges. The messages sounded particularly urgent.

“This will sound like a fake message but it is not. I am currently being extorted by 2 police officers from the Del Valle Police Department in Mexico City. In the last 4 days I have had to pay around 7000 pesos (350$ american) and I am not paying more…

So if I get arrested on drug charges in the next little bit I want to put it out there right now that it was planted by the Del Valle Police Department.”

Jack Evans gave no indication as to how he found himself in the predicament. Concerned fans flooded the wrestler with responses. He did not tweet anything else that seemed distressful in the days leading up to the announcement that he’s being extorted.

Jack Evans’ most notable moment during his time in AEW was when he challenged Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship on an episode of AEW Dark. He’s also appeared in PWG, Lucha Underground, and is a former AAA Cruiserweight and Tag Team champion. As this story develops, we’ll surely find out more about this mysterious circumstance.
