AJ Styles and Omos were poised to win their first round RK-Bro-Nament matchup against the Street Profits on last night’s WWE Raw. Just as AJ was about to finish things off with a Phenomenal Forearm, Omos tagged himself in. AJ expressed visible frustration.

AJ and Omos lost the match after Omos selfishly got counted out. AJ tried to talk some sense into him, but Omos left. The seeds for the long-awaited split were planted. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has big plans for Omos.

“I sense this is a way to get him as an Andre The Giant babyface, so this is a way to get him there, yeah.”

Apparently WWE sees a lot more in Omos than many fans. AJ Styles has said he believes Omos will go on to be a main event star. The company appears to believe the same.

Before WrestleMania, reports surfaced that Omos was not doing well during his in-ring training. Fans have complained that he’s been holding The Phenomenal One back. It’s a huge leap to think he might ever reach the level of a legend like Andre The Giant.

Omos might be on his way to a major singles push. That could backfire on the company if fans don’t react they way they hope. As for AJ Styles, he can get back to putting on the great singles matches he’s known for.
