Matt Hardy has been dabbling in controversy on Twitter recently. While he has not come out against vaccines, he has been clear in his stance that it is a personal decision. After reiterating those thoughts in a tweet this morning, a fan responded with harsh criticism.

Hardy said people should do what’s best for them and not rely on others. The fan asked Hardy if he fixes his own injuries. They said people should listen to medical experts, not wrestlers.

“When you get hurt in the ring & need surgery, say you’ll do it yourself b/c you “know what’s best?” No, you don’t. You’re not a doctor and you have no idea what to do in situations that require medical expertise. Googling whatever agrees w/you is not research or critical thinking”

Matt Hardy returned with a strong retort of his own. He personally insulted the fan and called him ignorant. Hardy followed up the attack with a tweet saying fans could expect a more authentic Matt on the platform in the future.

“YOU ARE A F*CKING IDIOT.

You obviously don’t have any life experiences or you wouldn’t have responded with such ignorance.

I will & would never go online for advice. I live in the real world. I listen to professionals. I believe in science. I DO WHAT’S BEST FOR ME & MY FAMILY.”

“You’re not getting tweets from Big Money Matt anymore. You get authentic Matt Hardy tweets & thoughts now.”

Matt Hardy is going to start letting it all hang out on social media. Whether that means he’s going to be offering up more vaguely worded takes on controversial topics remains to be seen. It is obvious in the way the tweets are written that they are troll bait. Fans who don’t bite will sit back and enjoy the show.
