Camelo Hayes has made quite a splash in his brief reign as NXT North American Champion. He’s one of the most popular wrestlers on the colorful WWE brand. Since his debut in June, he’s won the Breakout tournament and won the NA title.

The confident Hayes has his heights set even higher. Carmelo talked to The War Report recently to talk about his plans. He was asked which main roster WWE wrestlers he’d like to face. He didn’t hesitate with his answer. He was asked if Reigns is the standard, and he answered affirmatively.

“Roman. I feel like that’s the only answer. I feel like, go big or go home. It’s Roman, bro…

Yeah, that’s true, bro. He’s that guy, for real. I met him when I did SmackDown. He’s that guy. He’s that guy who you should want to wrestle, because he’s the big money guy. If you think about it, big match, big moments. He’s that guy.”

After winning the NXT Breakout contract, he cashed in on North American champ Swerve Scott. After losing the title, Scott was called up to the main roster with the rest of Hit Row. The entire group was released shortly thereafter.

Carmelo Hayes will join Grayson Waller, Bron Breakker, and Tony D’Angelo as a part of Team 2.0 at NXT WarGames. The team will take on the old guard of NXT veterans featuring Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne, and LA Knight in a WarGames match. The show airs Sunday, November 5, live on Peacock.
