Hikaru Shida is the longest-reigning AEW Women’s World Champion ever. She defeated Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing 2020, and then carried a thin division through the worst days of the pandemic. Now, she has revealed that she will soon make her return to Japan.

Shida tweeted that she’ll be appearing at MAKAI Genesis ReBOOT on the 4th of February. That may explain her recent loss to Nyla Rose in the TBS Title Women’s Eliminator Tournament. Shida goes by Princess Tsuru in MAKAI.

“Princess Tsuru is BACK!! on Feb 4th 2022, Japan. 【MAKAI GENESIS “ReBOOT”】”

Shida debuted at the 2019 Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where she wrestled in a six-woman tag. From there, she chased the world title, coming up short before finally scoring the victory at Double or Nothing ’20. She most recently feuded with Serena Deeb.
