Jim Ross is taking some time away from AEW to take care of his ongoing treatment for skin cancer. It’s a sad story, but the show doesn’t stop just because JR is away. In fact, Tony Khan has announced a very interesting replacement for tonight’s Dynamite broadcast.

AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page will fill in for Ross on tonight’s show. Tony Khan announced the move ahead of tonight’s show on Busted Open Radio. Hanger was also included in a related announcement from the AEW President.

Khan said that he’s banned Bryan Danielson and Adam Page from any physical contact with each other before their championship match. Khan says if either man lays a finger on the other, they’ll face stiff consequences and a big fine. Danielson is set to take on Page associate and Dark Order member Alan ‘5’ Angels.

It will be interesting to see how Khan continues to fill the void left in Jim Ross’ absence. He’s previously said that his projected return date is December 29. That will leave his seat open for three additional shows including tonight.
