WWE released referee Drake Wuertz from his contract earlier this year during one of their rounds of cuts. He made headlines prior to his release, mostly due to his controversial activities outside of the squared circle. It seems Wuertz has found work again in an unexpected place.

The controversial referee gained infamy after sharing right-winged opinions that bordered on QAnon conspiracies. He would eventually distance himself from such stances, but his name remains tainted.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Drake Wuertz has worked as a referee for Epico Colon’s new promotion. The first show for the new Latin Wrestling Entertainment promotion took place on November 20 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Participants included the likes of Drake Wuertz, the Lucha Brothers, Mecha Wolf & Bestia 666, and Cinta De Oro (formerly Hunico/Sin Cara). A second show is also set to take place in January, but it is not known whether Wuertz will work that show as well.
