Ring of Honor is set to disband after their upcoming Final Battle show. The entire roster has been released, and we’ve already seen ROH stars like Jay Lethal show up on other wrestling shows. Titles are still being defended and TV tapings are taking place up until the December 11 show, but one ROH wrestler says it all feels meaningless.

Dalton Castle has been with ROH since 2013. He’s been their World Champion. On the most recent ROH TV episode, he captured the promotion’s Television Title. Speaking to The Gentleman’s Club, Castle talked about his feelings on the final sets of TV tapings.

“It all feels meaningless, actually. We just did a recording like three days ago and it was weird. We just showed up knowing that our jobs were ending. I’m proud of what I’ve done. We still have one more pay-per-view with fans in December.

I’m excited for that. I’m not mad at that. Yes, maybe there were some decisions along the way with hindsight that probably led to this moment, but they’ve given me so much and I’ve had such a great time. I’m still wrestling. I’m sad to see something that I’ve loved for so long end.”

ROH has suspended all live events after Final Battle until April. The company is planning a reboot at the Supercard of Honor event. Talent will no longer be signed on exclusive contracts, but on a per-appearance basis.

The new setup essentially makes ROH a televised version of PWG. Finding stars who don’t have exclusive TV contracts with other companies will be very difficult. There will likely be a major emphasis on unsigned, young, independent talent.

Do you think Dalton Castle will end up in AEW or WWE? Let us know in the comments!
