Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson remains one of the most popular pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He was a true icon in WWE and his stock only rose after The Rock made his way to Hollywood. He is now the highest-paid actor in the industry.

However, The Rock certainly did not have the best of starts in WWE as his Rocky Maivia character was largely panned by fans and eventually led to the infamous ”Die Rocky die” chants.

On the occasion of The Rock’s 25th Anniversary with WWE at Survivor Series, many fans believed they would get to see The Rock return for the first time in two years.

The show kept on dropping hints about The Rock throughout the night. Despite this he didn’t show up. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, The Rock was busy shooting a film and couldn’t make it in time for Survivor Series because of quarantines.

“Dwayne’s out of the country and he can’t come back. They’re doing a movie and he can’t go back-and-forth because of quarantine. There was no way he could be at the show tonight.”

The Rock also recently stated that he would make his return to WWE only if it makes sense. The Rock hasn’t wrestled a proper WWE match in years, as his last match was back in WrestleMania 32. It remains to be seen whether The Rock will be back around time for WrestleMania 39.
