Sasha Banks is one of the top female WWE Superstars in the history of the company. Her accolades speak for themselves and she has competed in some of the best matches in the company’s history. She also once requested her release from WWE.

Sasha Banks was pulled from the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view and was absent for a long time. However, she made her shocking return to WWE television at Extreme Rules. Since then she became one of the mainstays of WWE television once again.

While speaking on an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Sasha Banks revealed why she requested Vince McMahon for her WWE release. McMahon rejected her request and told her to take 30 days to think about it.

While speaking to BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, Sasha Banks recalled why she asked for her release in the first place . It came down to her not feeling the best she could have felt.

“I felt like I was simply not giving my highest good. If I am not giving my highest good, if I am unable to the best, if I am not used as the best then I really have to go find that. I am always that performer of wanting to be No. 1 and I felt in my heart that I was not feeling just good.

I felt that I did all that I could and I needed that break. I needed that release and Vince told me, ‘No’. That was a great decision on both ends. He knew what he saw and he is so intelligent, he is so kind and gentle. He actually knew what I needed, which was ‘time’, at the end of the point all of want a little bit of time,

Sasha Banks is currently engaged in a feud with Shotzi Blackheart. It is likely she will be feuding with Charlotte Flair after WWE Survivor Series as well, so we will have to see how the feud will be booked.
