Jay Lethal is a 20-year veteran in the world of professional wrestling. He has competed in various promotions all around the world including TNA during the late 2000s and early 2010s. He then made his way to ROH and became the World Champion there.

With Ring of Honor releasing all of their talents in order to undergo a complete overhaul, Jay Lethal became a free agent. Lethal then shocked the world as he made his debut at AEW Full Gear.

While speaking on the Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette gave huge props to AEW for signing Jay Lethal. Cornette then proceeded to blast WWE for letting AEW sign someone with the caliber of Lethal instead of signing him themselves.

“So AEW got another one here. Again and the WWE, considering the state of their talent roster – they did not go for Jay Lethal, they do not go for the Briscoe’s, or they do not go for one or two others. Once again the WWE let the opposition take all the f****** wrestlers that the fans, especially the most dedicated fans – are sympathetic to. This is because they have either been fired, or their companies let them go, or they gone out of business or whatever.”

Jim Cornette also stated that Tony Khan finally did something right by signing Jay Lethal. Lethal is also set to challenge Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship this week on AEW Dynamite. It remains to be seen how Lethal will perform in his AEW in-ring debut.
