ROH surprised the pro wrestling world when they announced that every contracted star on their roster will be released as of December 31st. The company will take a break, but they will return as a full-fledged indie company without contracted stars. AEW is paying close attention to that situation.
Tony Khan’s company is known to pull in top free agents. They have allegedly had no formal talks with Bray Wyatt, but there is a chance that ROH talent are much closer to making the jump over to AEW.
While on a conference call to promote AEW Full Gear, Tony Khan was asked about the recent ROH releases. As Sean Sapp reports, Tony Khan advised fans to stay tuned.
Tony Khan says “stay tuned to AEW” when I asked about ROH talent coming to the company, and you never know who will show up.
He’s good friends with a lot of people integrated with ROH, and is very familiar with what’s going on and what is and isn’t available.
It is very likely that some ROH stars will find their way to AEW. Hopefully, everyone in that situation will land on their feet, because ROH certainly turned the pro wrestling world on its head by revealing that the company is going through such a huge change.
