Orange Cassidy will go into his semifinal match in the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament without knowing who he’s facing until the last minute. His scheduled opponent, Jon Moxley, is taking time off to deal with an alcohol problem. Now, AEW has announced that they have a plan to fill the void left in Mox’s absence.

The promotion took to their official Twitter to announce an updated preview for tonight’s show. Last night on Dark, AEW revealed that FTR will issue an open challenge for their AAA Tag Team titles last night on Dark. Cassidy’s opponent will be announced during the broadcast.

“#AEWDynamite is LIVE NATIONWIDE at 8e/5p TONIGHT on @tntdrama: -Who will face @orangecassidy in the #AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament semifinals? -@CodyRhodes v @AndradeElIdolo -TBS Title Tournament: @annajay___ v @jmehytr -#FTR’s @luchalibreaaa Tag Team Title Open Challenge”

While many fans found speculating about what AEW would do with the title tournament distasteful, it was a practical matter that Tony Khan and his crew needed to deal with. The AEW roster is full of talented potential fill-ins. While nobody can replace Mox, AEW will try to find a good opponent for Orange Cassidy.
