WWE fans in the UK have been hoping for a pay-per-view show for a long time. Talk about it happening has picked up recently. Now, we might know the date and place for the anticipated show.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared some details about the potential show. The information came during a rundown of the company’s PPV dates for 2022.

“The second story, in some ways bigger, is that WWE announced a Labor Day weekend PPV, from a site to be determined, which is very likely to be in the United Kingdom. We do know the company met with officials at London’s Wembley Stadium and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium recently about doing a Labor Day weekend PPV show.”

The original idea was for the company to celebrate the 30th anniversary of SummerSlam ’92 in August. That fell through due to pandemic concerns. It looks like WWE might be making good on their return soon. Labor Day weekend falls on the first weekend in September.

Interestingly, AEW has their All Out PPV booked for Chicago on that same weekend. All Out is considered All Elite Wrestling’s biggest show of the year. The most recent show set a record with 205,000 buys.

Also notable in the WWE PPV schedule is that the first night of WrestleMania will compete directly with the NCAA basketball championship. Traditionally, wrestling viewership falls when facing a major sporting event.
