WWE revealed their schedule of pay-per-view events for 2022 and fans paid a lot of attention to WrestleMania 38 getting an extra day. AEW fans might need to pay close attention to that schedule as well.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez ran down WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view events. He also noted that WWE is planning to counterprogram AEW All Out, because they left it open in their schedule which made their plan very obvious.

Saturday September 3rd it says or Sunday September 4th pay-per-view at TBD location. So, they’re gonna figure out when and where AEW is running All Out and they’re booking a pay-per-view for that weekend.”

AEW and WWE are obviously in competition at this point, and this should prove it. WWE might like to say that they carry on with blinders strapped to their heads like workhorses, but they know what Tony Khan’s company is doing.

If anything, fans should be excited about a packed weekend full of pro wrestling around All Out weekend. We just have to wonder how much gasoline WWE is going to add to this fire they’re starting to create a counterprogramming effort.
