Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring recently aired the second part of their third season that focused on The Plane Ride From Hell. Tommy Dreamer essentially excused what Ric Flair did on that plane and that resulted in him getting indefinitely suspended by Impact Wrestling.

There is also the chance that Ric Flair will be cancelled as well. The backstage culture in the early days of wrestling was nothing short of disturbing. It was also said that Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty used h-bombs frequently on female fans.

Missy Hyatt, who is known as  ‘The First Lady of Professional Wrestling’, was one of the highlights of WCW in the early 1990s. She recently took to Twitter and gave details regarding the disturbing backstage culture in the 90s.

My opinion on the culture depicted in @DarkSideOfRing. Old school rasslin: it was sadly not frowned upon exposing yourself to a stranger, H-bombing co workers or even strangers. It was part of the culture at the time. I dont condone it. Glad the new generation is wiser.

It would not fly in a non wrestling job or most outside social settings. Thats why most jobs have legitimate human resources to handle these matters.

Dark Side of the Ring truly opened up a can of worms and perhaps that was for the best as it might lead to a proper change for the betterment of the whole pro wrestling industry.
