After CM Punk defeated Darby Allin at AEW All Out, his time in the ring continued after the match was over. Sting came out to check on Allin, and he had some words for Punk as well. Punk an Sting shared a handshake and an apparent alliance was formed.

During the post event media scrum, CM Punk revealed that Sting coming down to address him was 100% improvised. Punk told Sting that it “means a lot” to get a handshake from him, and Sting replied, “it means a lot to me, too.” That moment was not scripted and was totally real in the ring.
