AEW is moving their Dark tapings to Universal Studios and that will change the look of the show in a big way. The company is all about celebrating pro wrestling history and Tony Khan is looking for a throwback feel for AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.

During a conference call, Tony Khan was asked about moving Dark’s location to Universal Studios. Khan confirmed this news while saying that he wants to present something close to the WCW WorldWide feel back in the day. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported the following note on Khan’s response.

Tony is asked about Universal being the new home of the Dark tapings. He talks about the history of the building, and about the platform for Dark and Elevation. He puts over Thunder Rosa & others for helping work with their developmental talent. Compares Dark to WCW Worldwide.

We are uncertain when AEW will begin filming their Dark YouTube shows at Universal Studios. They filmed footage for Dark prior to Dynamite this week, so those tapings will obviously not start immediately. A lot of things could change around as All Elite Wrestling settles into a new way of operating.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
