WWE released Buddy Murphy from his contract and a lot of people are now waiting on his next move. That new development could come sooner than later for the former RAW Tag Team Champion. He let everyone know about his free agency today, but he picked an image that sparked a bit of controversy.

We previously reported that Murphy tweeted out a picture of hands in shackles and those chains breaking to signify his free agency. He captioned that post with “It’s here #FreeAgent.” Some fans too exception to the imagery that he picked for that post.

“You could have chosen ANY OTHER PHOTO,” one fan tweeted out to Buddy Matthews. “Yeah, this ain’t the imagery you want to evoke chief,” another fan tweeted out.

A lot of fans replied to the former Murphy’s post with the same sentiment. Obviously, he picked a photo that brought a different reaction from the one he was going for. So, he deleted that tweet and posted another with a caged bird flying free instead.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Buddy Matthews, but that first free agency tweet didn’t land the way he expected it to at all.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
