Roman Reigns Takes Credit For Record-Breaking SummerSlam Numbers

Roman Reigns took on John Cena in the main event of what was the most viewed SummerSlam of all time. After Reigns’ victory, the Tribal Chief was confronted by Brock Lesnar to a huge buzz on social media.

WWE reported that SummerSlam was a great success for the company. WWE set both attendance and merchandise sale records. WWE has also reported the video of Lesnar and Reigns was their most viewed Instagram video of all time.

Roman Reigns took to Twitter to take credit for WWE’s success with SummerSlam. Reigns quote tweeted WWE’s story on the success of the show with Reigns saying “Legit needle moving”.

Reigns’ tweet also heavily implies shot at CM Punk’s AEW debut and the viewer and merchandise sale numbers that caused. With Punk’s status as a “needle mover” questioned by some. Mick Foley also came to Punk’s defense to say that he was “DAMN OVER.”

Reigns is viewed by many as the clear biggest star in WWE today. With the Head of the Table in the main event, it is clear that WWE will use his drawing power for many events to come.
