Vince McMahon is the Chairman of WWE and oversees everything that goes on in the company, right down to the most minute of details. He is also behind the recent mass releases in NXT, actions Triple H has no say in whatsoever. McMahon is also larger than life and is known to do the craziest of things.

One of the biggest criticisms WWE receives is that they actively hold back Superstars who got over with the WWE Universe on their own. The likes of Miro, Damien Sandow, Matt Cardona and more have all been vocal about this in the past.

While speaking to Title Match Wrestling, former WWE Superstar Heath Slater talked about his 2016 free agent storyline. Fans were certainly behind him at that time but Slater felt that Vince McMahon didn’t want to give him more television time. Slater then accused Vince McMahon of holding back WWE Superstars until McMahon himself decides it.

“It was one of those things, man. I already saw it happen so many times with other guys. The people want it, Vince doesn’t want it. So the people are gonna let you know they want it, but Vince is just gonna keep that guy back and not gonna give it to you until he wants you to have it. It was one of those things like, yeah, I heard it, I appreciated it and I loved it.”

It is unknown whether WWE will ever change its stance on trying to hold back Superstars who get over organically with fans at this point in time. Heath Slater is still recovering from having multiple surgeries, but his story in pro wrestling is far from over. It would be incredibly cool if he could fulfill the 3MB prophecy and return to Vince McMahon’s company to become WWE Champion.
