Twitter is full of interesting trends and a ton of people are using the phrase “Black John Cena” today. This sparked a lot of memes and jokes; R-Truth noticed this trend and he had to chime in.

A throwback photo was posted by Brendan Cobbina and he looked a bit like the 16x World Champion. “Yes I cropped all of my close friends and kept myself!” he captioned the photo.

An overwhelming number of people tweeted out that this person looks like “Black John Cena.” After a while, enough people were tweeting about “Black John Cena” that it registered as a trend on Twitter.

The trend currently has over 11,000 tweets as of this writing, and the above screenshot was taken around thirty minutes ago. Obviously, this is a subject that plenty of people are discussing.

John Cena was R-Truth’s favorite wrestler when he was growing up, even though Truth is 49 and Cena is 44. The legendary 24/7 Champion saw “Black John Cena” was trending and he wanted to participate. Truth had the perfect video to post as well.

Along with a video of himself coming out to John Cena’s entrance music in the ThunderDome, R-Truth captioned the tweet with: “Black @JohnCena is trending huh?” Truth’s post was one of thousands weighing in on this trend.
