Nick Gage Reveals How He Felt About Fans Throwing Trash At Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona and deathmatch legend Nick Gage were involved in a feud for the past few months, with many fans believing Cardona didn’t have what it takes to face off against Nick Gage. Then Broski proved them wrong and chaos erupted.

At GCW Homecoming Night 1, Matt Cardona challenged Nick Gage for the GCW World Championship. In a move that no one saw coming, Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage for the GCW World Championship after an all-out war with the veteran.

The crowd erupted at Cardona shocking title win and proceeded to throw a lot of things to the ring as Cardona had a lot of heat on him. Cardona previously revealed that he was genuinely concerned after having pizza cutter thrown at him.

While speaking to Sean Waltman on Pro Wrestling 4 Life, Nick Gage gave his thoughts on fans throwing trash at Matt Cardona. The King didn’t think much of it and stated that he would never tell his fans to do anything, adding that it was all a natural reaction to what happened in the match.

”I’ll be honest with you, I was a little out of it. Shit was being thrown in the ring, but [Cardona] hit me with a bundle of tubes and that shit kinda put me out. I was kind of waking up and shit was flying everywhere. What do you want me to do? Control the gang? They are fired up. They don’t like this guy trying to come in here and get off doing a deathmatch and trying to get over. I don’t know what this guy is going. They don’t like this shit. I’ll never tell my gang to do whatever. They can do whatever they want as long as I’m there. That was all natural too. Ain’t nobody setting that shit up or nobody in the crowd throwing one thing so hopefully, others will throw it. It’s all natural. We don’t do that corny ass shit. The fans are passionate.” 

There was an accusation that plants were used to start throwing bottles. That was quickly dismissed as a fabrication. Those fans were legit angry at the result of that match.

Many fans couldn’t believe Matt Cardona actually became the new champion but it is simply something they have to accept now. We will have to see how Cardona’s reign as the new GCW World Champion will be booked.
