Ric Flair requested his WWE release and it was granted. He had a lot to say prior to asking that the company let him go. This included The Nature Boy telling Vince McMahon exactly what he thinks about WWE’s booking.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Flair contacted Vince McMahon via text message to complain about the company’s booking, especially for his daughter. He didn’t like the situation that they put Charlotte Flair in, and that was one of the root causes for Flair’s departure.

“He sent messages, I think it was text messages. He had sent a message to Vince McMahon, and it was basically complaining about Charlotte Flair’s booking and her situation. Now he’s gone. I’ve seen it said it was his decision to leave, but I just know from people who I know who are closer to this situation than I am that say that it was Vince’s decision.”

We’ll have to see if Ric Flair ends up in AEW. Nothing is out of the picture at this point, because the company already has Andrade El Idolo, another person with very close connections to the Flair family.

This is a very interesting time for the pro wrestling business, but Charlotte Flair didn’t lose any focus on RAW this week as she was heavily featured on the show and even wrestled in the main event match. She is also in a RAW Women’s Title match at SummerSlam.
