Update: Bodyslam has an update on this story. AEW is denying that Tony Khan was on the plane, but a trip was made using the Khan Family plan to Chicago. “We were contacted by AEW with an update saying that Tony Khan was not on the flight to Chicago. However, we did get confirmation that his family plane did in fact make the trip from Champagne to Chicago over the weekend.”
Original: Tony Khan has some big plans for AEW in Chicago. They regard that city as their second home, after Jacksonville, and those fans in the Windy City are set for some big news coming very soon.
Bodyslam.net has reported that Tony Khan and other Executive Vice Presidents flew to Chicago on his private jet from Champagne-Urbana to Chicago. They are being very tight-lipped about the purpose of this trip, but sources say that they might have been shooting footage at the United Center.
Sources have confirmed to me that Tony Khan and the EVP’s flew in his private jet on Sunday from Champagne-Urbana to Chicago. Everyone is being very tight lipped about what exactly they were doing in the Windy City, but sources told me that the trip was potentially for them to film some promo stuff at the United Center.
We will have to see what Tony Khan’s big announcement is on Wednesday, but many are expecting a United City show announcement. It is unknown at this time when that show is going to take place, but AEW is certainly making plans for something in Chicago.
