Thunder Rosa is now with AEW as the company made the big announcement today. This new deal will see her compete for AEW full time, but there was still some time left on her NWA contract.

Ringside News has learned that Tony Khan bought out Thunder Rosa’s contract from the NWA. It is unclear exactly how much time she had left in her deal. Fightful has also reported her buyout is a reality.

Billy Corgan confirmed that her deal stretched until the end of 2021. He said, “She’s under contract thru 2021 and there’s a reason for that (it’s called excellence and faith).”

Thunder Rosa entered AEW as NWA Women’s Champion and she quickly became a fan favorite. She also earned respect in the locker room and has a great passion for pro wrestling. All of those things combined to help make buying out her contract an easy decision.

Thunder Rosa also appeared for Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary. Those kind of cameos can continue since AEW and Impact Wrestling are known to exchange talent.
