AEW Knew Anthony Ogogo Was Taking Hiatus Before Starting Recent Push

AEW has a lot going on and then must worry about a few additional things when considering a star that is not from the United States. They have lost several wrestlers during the pandemic due to travel restrictions, and now Anthony Ogogo is back in the U.K.

Ogogo, who just had surgery, sent out big threat to Billy Gunn from his hospital bed. He is a big part of QT Marshall’s Factory stable. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW knew that Ogogo was going back to the United Kingdom even when preparing his big Double or Nothing feud with Cody Rhodes.

It was reported that Ogogo was set to get time back in the UK for “personal reasons,” but now he is recovering from another facial surgery in the meantime.

Anthony Ogogo, who was getting the big push with the one punch body shot finish, is back in England right now. It was notable because his last major thing was knocking Cody Rhodes out but even as they were doing that program and putting him over strong it was known he’d be returning home for a while, said to be due to personal reasons.

Anthony Ogogo will be back in AEW, because the company has invested a lot of time, money, and effort into his training. They obviously see big things for him, but they will have to wait until he makes his return to the United States before he can continue his AEW story and move onto his next challenge in the company.
