WWE is bringing SummerSlam to Las Vegas on August 21st. It will be an all hands on deck situation as they are looking to treat it like a WrestleMania level event. All of those big plans came from a burst of inspiration thanks to March Madness.

The company is making big plans for SummerSlam, including Roman Reigns vs John Cena. Other huge names were reported such as Cardi B, but it’s unknown whether she will still be up for it considering her recent pregagncy announcement.

WWE President Nick Khan spoke to the Las Vegas Sun, where he explained how March Madness was to thank for WWE giving Las Vegas an extra hard look at hosing the biggest party of the summer.

“We were paying close attention to March Madness because there was a thought that people might not be going back to Las Vegas (to bet and watch games) because there was nothing to go back to. Once March Madness hit, the occupancy rate skyrocketed. That was our moment of (understanding) if we have an event, it will get people back, and it’s an opportunity to also help jumpstart the Vegas economy.”
