Andrade debuted for AEW with a bit of a different name. That new moniker is now officially his and nobody else can use it.

The former NXT Champion debuted on the AEW Dynamite episode which aired on June 4th. That is the date noted as the First Use and First Use In Commerce on a recent trademark filing for Andrade El Idolo. The actual filing was completed on June 17th.

WWE retained ownership of Andrade Cien Almas, but they can not keep him from using that first name. It is legally his name and now he can use it however he sees fit after adding “El Idolo” to the name.

Andrade’s time in AEW is just getting started. We’ll have to see what’s next for him, because he obviously has big goals. He might not have any creative control in AEW, but he does have complete ownership of his name.
