Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio ran their Hell in a Cell match on Friday Night SmackDown, and things turned out just as they were planned to on Sunday’s pay-per-view. That means Roman Reigns won’t be on this Sunday’s show. The company isn’t likely to feature anything to do with the Universal Champion’s storyline now.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s plans now that Roman Reigns’ Universal Title match aired on SmackDown. There are currently zero intentions of progressing any of the Tribal Chief of the Usos’ storyline during the pay-per-view.

“I was told on Thursday when it all came down that Roman is not on the Sunday pay-per-view, that’s what I was told. So, I know that it wasn’t another match for Roman so I figured maybe it was Rey and Dominik vs the Usos so they could do another match for the Usos where the Usos go over, and I was told today ‘that’s not it either.’ It was not an angle situation where they’re going to do some Friday angles on Sunday it was the Sunday match was moved to Friday and they did exactly what they were going to do on Sunday, but they wanted more eyeballs on it, and that’s the basic answer.”

Sunday’s pay-per-view might be a night off for Roman Reigns and The Usos, but it could also be a night off for their fans. Many people might forget about Hell in a Cell since The Tribal Chief is no longer working on Sunday.

What’s your take on this situation? Are you upset that Roman Reigns won’t work Hell in a Cell now? Sound off in the comments!
