John Cena Can’t Wait To Wear Jorts In A WWE Ring Again

John Cena was unable to make WrestleMania this year. He was filming the Peacemaker series for HBO Max in Canada and he couldn’t make it there and back without going through Canada’s reentry quarantine process. That commitment will be over in a couple of weeks and now it looks like Cena is gearing up to put on that old wrestling gear once again.

Cena has been rumored to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. That huge rumored match makes The Tribal Chief’s upcoming Universal Title match against Rey Mysterio seem like a bit of a moot point, but the title needs to be defended this Sunday.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, John Cena was asked about when he will wear jorts again, and if he will never put on his famous ring gear again. His response was quite clear that he can’t wait to get back to action, because it’s been long enough.

“The last time was not this WrestleMania but last WrestleMania. I can tell you this, I very much look forward to wearing jorts again, it’s been too long.”

Cena was also asked if it’s a matter of “when” he returns to WWE, and not “if,” he replied, “You are absolutely correct. Yep.”

John Cena will likely return to WWE as live crowds are able to welcome him back. It’s unknown how many dates WWE will get Cena to agree to, but he is obviously excited about reconnecting with the WWE Universe. He also has quite a test ahead of him as he takes on Roman Reigns on August 21st.
