WWE held Evolution, their first all-female pay-per-view, in Uniondale, New York on October 28th, 2018. That event was previously promoted as a house show prior to WWE announcing that it evolved into the historic pay-per-view special. Fans have yet to see another all-female special on WWE programming.

Triple H recently said that WWE holding another Evolution event is not “must have.” That irritated some fans who are clamoring to see another event like that. The first Evolution was special and had big names like Ronda Rousey, The Bella Twins, Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch; all women who are no longer around.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer got into Triple H’s response to that question. He explained what Triple H apparently couldn’t say on that call. WWE did not see the return on their investment for that event. Since it wasn’t viewed as a huge hit when it came to the numbers, the company has yet to run another all-female show.

“It didn’t flop selling tickets, but it was tougher than most. The number of people who watched, and they promoted it hard, was still lower than most. It was not the worst that year, no, but it was on the low end. Their mentality is, ‘why add that pay-per-view when it wasn’t a big hit?’ but of the B-Shows, they pushed it harder than all of them. I mean they did so much promotion for that thing for it to be at a low level. For the promotion they put into it, it did not do well.”

“That’s what they’re looking at, so from their business perspective that’s how they see it. Other people think it’s just a cause and they should do it, because ‘I want them to do it.'”

Triple H handled the Evolution II question in the best way he could during that conference call. Meltzer went on to say that Triple H said that it’s not a “must-have” instead of flat-out saying that it did not do as well as it should have with the promotion they put into the show.

We’ll have to see if WWE ever books another Evolution event. Fans will need to turn out and prove to the company that it is worth their time to invest in such a pay-per-view if it is to ever become a possibility again. That is the only way that WWE’s decision on the matter will be seemingly swayed at this point.

Will WWE ever hold another Evolution event? Sound off in the comments!
