Johnny Gargano Says He Will Win NXT Title For The People Who Don’t Believe In Him

Johnny Gargano has held the NXT Title before in his career and he has another opportunity to capture that prize at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. That will be easier said than done in a fatal five-way match, but Johnny Wrestling is determined to prove that he can do it.

During the conference before NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Johnny Gargano said that he will win the NXT Title this time around for the haters, not those who chanted “Johnny Wrestling” at him in the past.

“I did that for the people who believed in me, for the people who chanted ‘Johnny Wrestling.’ Now I want to win it for the people who don’t, for the people who doubt me. For the people who keep moving the goalposts on all my accomplishments, for the people who think I don’t fit the mold for the a face of a company looks like. For the people who doubt me. I want throw it up in their face.”

Gargano also mentioned the “Airport Test,” a widely used expression to determine if someone is a star; “would they get looks at an airport?” Gargano doesn’t care about that, although he admitted that Karrion Kross looks like a star after saying that he will beat their prototype in order to reclaim the NXT Title.

We will have to see what is next for Gargano. NXT call-ups to the main roster always make some fans nervous, especially where Johnny Wrestling is concerned. This could be big couple of weeks for the leader of The Way. We will continue to provide ongoing coverage here at Ringside News.
