WWE announced that SummerSlam will go down in Las Vegas on August 21st. That event might be big shorter than usual to make way for the Manny Pacquiao fight, but the company has huge things in store.

WrestleMania was a two-night event, with fans, inside Raymond James Stadium. Logan Paul and Bad Bunny made celebrity appearances, but WWE is apparently making even larger plans for SummerSlam this year.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, WWE is pulling out all the stops for SummerSlam. Their intention is to turn the biggest party of the summer into this year’s equivalent of the show of shows.

After speaking to a few sources on the topic, I’ve learned that WWE is 100% attempting to make SummerSlam this year’s WrestleMania. “All resources will be tapped into” is how it was explained to me. I do believe they want Reigns v Cena to headline. Not sure if they’ve decided.

WWE has a lot of things in motion for SummerSlam. A John Cena vs Roman Reigns match has been previously reported. Although Brock Lesnar was in the company’s early SummerSlam plans, that dream match with Bobby Lashley doesn’t seem to be in the cards this time.

A lot of things could change between now and August 21st. The company could go on another firing spree and replace the roster with NXT Superstars for all we know. This is certainly an interesting time to be a fan of Vince McMahon’s company.

What are you expecting out of SummerSlam this year? Sound off in the comments!
