WWE has seen a steady decline in viewership and there are many things that could be to blame on that. Gerald Brisco, a man who spent over 30 years working with Vince McMahon, can see this trend and he has an opinion.

Brisco also had lot to say about how John Cena doesn’t even bring the same emotion from fans.

While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Gerald Brisco opened up about WWE’s slumping viewership. Brisco pointed a finger at the company’s “sound bite matches,” because they don’t let wrestlers tell a proper story in the ring.

“Those are your fans that I think we’re losing a lot of because of the sound bite matches we’re having and the quickness of them. When we were [wrestling] we had time to tell people a story and draw them emotionally into a match. And very few of those guys have that opportunity now. And that’s a shame for them to lose that skill. We had [fans] emotionally involved with us because [they] knew we were going to go out and kick ass. [They] knew they were going to see a wrestling match when [they] saw the Brisco brothers.”

WWE is also failing at being able to maintain interest levels as well. They are making big plans for touring again as the pandemic continues opening up. It’s anyone’s guess whether a return of live fans on a weekly basis will help bring up WWE’s viewership.
