Io Shirai Returns To WWE NXT

Io Shirai lost the NXT Women’s Title to Raquel Gonzalez and she hasn’t been seen since. Many fans wondered if her name could be in line for a call up to the main roster. While that isn’t out of the question, Shirai returned to the black and gold brand tonight.

Candice LeRae came out to the ring this week to talk trash about Poppy. She has dragged Poppy many times, calling her brand of metal “not music.” Poppy happened to be in the Capitol Wrestling Center, and she came out to confront LeRae.

Poppy said that she’s not a wrestler, but she knows someone who is. This is when Io Shirai came out to make her big return to NXT. She ran Candice LeRae off, and then celebrated with Poppy in the ring.

Io Shirai wasn’t booked for a match, but it was noted that she is “back” in NXT. We’ll have to see how long she sticks around. There was also a moment where Shirai had a backstage stare-down with Raquel Gonzalez after the segment.
