There are many full-fledged stars in AEW who made their start in WWE as an enhancement talent or had on-screen roles. This included the likes of Ricky Starks, MJF and others. The timing of a recent social media post from WWE was seen as a shot to AEW by many fans. After all, Tony Khan took a direct shot at WWE President Nick Khan this week.

WWE is known to uploaded throwback clips from time to time featuring current Superstars. The company recently took to Twitter and uploaded a clip of Nia Jax’s debut on the July 25, 2016 edition of Monday Night RAW.

Interestingly enough, the match featured Jax facing off against current AEW star Britt Baker, in what was a proper squash match as Baker was used as enhancement talent to make Nia Jax look dominant.

It was the only appearance of Britt Baker on WWE television before returning to the independent circuit. Fans questioned the timing of the clip as Britt Baker is set to face off in the biggest match of her career this Sunday.

The YouTube video noted Britt Baker as a “local competitor,” which she was at the time.

It is not known whether the move was an intentional shot at AEW or not, but many fans wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. Regardless, Baker will be challenging Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Title at AEW Double or Nothing this Sunday. We will have to see if she wins the match or not.

Who would win between Nia Jax and Britt Baker now? Sound off in the comments!
