WWE and Adnan Virk parted ways this week, but they needed someone to replace him. An official announcement is coming soon, but fans now know who to expect.

Virk seems to be taking his WWE departure well. He even made joke about a WWE Hall of Fame meme that is going around.

According to a new report from F4WOnine, Jimmy Smith is set to replace Adnan Virk as the new lead announcer for WWE RAW. Smith comes from Bellator and American Ninja Warrior. This is an interesting move, but he does have more experience calling combat sports than Adnan Virk did.

Smith, 43, best known for his 2010 to 2017 run with Bellator, has been working with Michael Cole and WWE staff of late to train for a possible announcing role. According to sources within the company, Cole has praised him heavily and found him to be very versatile.

WWE and Adnan Virk mutually agreed to part ways this week. Virk noted that the company’s travel demands were too much for him on top of other projects he is involved with.

Now Jimmy Smith will join Corey Graves and Byron Saxton on the WWE RAW announce team. He will start on the May 31st episode of WWE RAW.
