Aleister Black finally made his presence known in the ThunderDome during SmackDown this week. He interrupted the big fatal 4-way IC Title main event match and took out Big E. That gave Apollo Crews the chance to get the pinfall on Big E and retain his title. What is WWE planning for Black next?

Black is now a heel and he made that point very clear after nailing Big E with a Black Mass kick. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained WWE’s reasoning for doing this. Apparently, we haven’t seen the last of Aleister Black and Big E.

“It was a TV match and they weren’t going to change the title and they were going to move Big E to Aleister Black — that’s the program, so that’s how they set up the new program. They weren’t going to change the title, so that’s what they wanted.”

Those two former NXT Champions could have a nice feud. We’ll have to see who comes out on top in that situation, because both men really need a win.

Aleister Black sat at home for months and then started to debut a new character during “story time” video vignettes. We’ll have to see what WWE has in store for this angle. Either they plan on Aleister Black to get a notch in the win category against Big E, or WWE set up Black as a heel to fall to Big E on his path up the roster.
