The main event of WrestleMania Backlash saw Cesaro challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. Despite Cesaro’s best efforts, he was unable to defeat Roman Reigns in the match and win the title.

The closing moments of the match saw Reigns applying the Guillotine submission on Cesaro and Cesaro would pass out soon enough. After the match concluded, Seth Rollins ran out and brutally attacked Cesaro with a chair and finished off the attack with a Curb Stomp on Cesaro.

Rollins would then explain his actions at WrestleMania Backlash. While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Seth Rollins added that he wanted to teach Cesaro a lesson before suggesting that Cesaro should quit being a pro wrestler and become a trainer in NXT.

“So he went from top of the mountain to bottom of the bottom. He’s pretty much useless at this point. I hope he understands that. I hope he really understands his self-worth now, after all this. You know, he’d be a great trainer on NXT. Maybe he leaves SmackDown, go to NXT, be with his wife, train the talent. Teach them how to do wrist locks, teach them how to do headlocks, teach them how to follow their dreams. Sounds great! That’s what he should do! That sounds like a great spot for Cesaro.”

It is likely that Cesaro and Seth Rollins will continue feuding on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. We will have to see how their feud will be booked and who will ultimately come out on top.
